CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: CAMP
It is nearly summer—and all that we are dreaming of these days. So we’ve decided to dedicate this next issue to a favorite summer activity: camping. And we’d like to invite you to submit something! Deadline July 1st. Email your submission to womansinc [at] gmail.
CAMP things we’re thinking would be cool:
  • Summer camp: crushes, sunburns, heat rashes, awkward moments (the kind of thing you would’ve submitted to Teen magazine), etc.
  • Camp on TV or in movies (ahem)
  • Camping: in tents, when it’s great, when it sucks, when you went with your parents and it was really so rad
  • Camping as portrayed in a book or music video, like this Mariah Carey fave.
  • GO CRAZYYY (somewhere within the realms of def.s 1&2)
Types of submissions we accept: pretty much everything. Check out our site to help imagination how your piece might look. Kinds of things you might think of doing: 
  • GIFs
  • Cartoons
  • Jokes, knock-knock or not or whatever
  • Personal Essays
  • Photographs
  • Recipes
  • DIY projects
  • Illustrations
  • Fiction
  • Case studies
  • So much more

Submission deadline extended to Jan. 31

Ok, CULT submission deadline is hereby extended to Tuesday, Jan. 31. 

Thanks to those of you who have contributed already! 
I’d like to emphasize that we would love to see your multimedia submissions — audio, video, animated gifs, powerpoint presentations, etc. We’ll be experimenting with putting things online in new ways and would be jazzed to:
  • hear your reading of a scientology poem (we could put the transcription in the print version)
  • see the animated gif you made of your favorite cult movie (we could put a few slides in print)
  • watch the video of you lighting candles during a witchy seance (we’d put some screen shots in the static zine)

CULT deadline a week away

Women, we hope you have been obsessing, †††religiously†††, about your WOMANZINE submission for our Cult issue because the deadline is a week away! Jan 15! When you’re ready, send your submission to womansinc [at] gmail.

If you need some inspiration, here are some ideas of what “cult” might mean to you, so get drawing, writing, collaging, filming, joke-writing, or whatever. Some vids to inspire you:

SUBMISSION CALL FOR ++|||<CULT>|||++ (deadline 1/15/12)

Word up. We’re inviting you to SUBMIT TO WOMANZINE for our next issue, CULT. We welcome your interpretation of the CULT theme through all kinds of content, like:

  • Cartoons
  • Jokes, knock-knock or not or whatever
  • Personal Essays
  • News stories, real or fake
  • Photographs
  • Recipes
  • DIY projects
  • Illustrations
  • Poems, rhyming or not or whatever
  • Case studies on internet slang
  • So much more

If you will be writing a piece, please keep it under 1000 words. For graphic contributions, the zine is a half-page, but please remember that we will be using standard printers and may have some sort of printer margin, so bleeds will not always be possible. Deadline for submission will be Sunday, January 15th, but we are always accepting pieces for the Tumblr. So if you have any sort of time-based submission (e.g. audio, video, blingees), please let us know. For any more information, or to submit, email womansinc [at] gmail [dot] com.
